Exam Application

Exam Application Fees:

1 exam section – $40

2 different exam sections – $76

3 different exam sections – $108

4 different exams sections – $120

In addition, we charge a 3% credit card recovery fee. Please make sure you choose the number of exams you can take in six months because we do not offer refunds.

Provisional Candidates:

Provisional candidates can make ONLY the Initial Exam Request. You can select up to 4 exam sections in this request. However, because the Notice to Schedule (NTS) for these exam sections expires in 6 months, you should choose the number of exams you can realistically take in that 6 months. In addition, we recommend you plan to be removed from Provisional status before this 6-month expiration date. In other words, you need two things to happen in 6 months- taking a realistic number of exams and removal from Provisional status.

Testing Accommodations:

If you are a candidate who requires ADA accommodations, please select “Y” in response to the ADA question on every exam application. This ensures that your accommodation appears on your NTS in a timely manner. If your accommodations do not appear on your NTS, please contact the Help Desk at help@ilboe.org

Procedure:

  1. Submit the Initial Examination Request found in the “Online Applications” link within your ILBOE account. This request is used only the first time you want to test. You can select up to all 4 exam sections when you complete this request. However, when you make any exam request, the number of exams you choose is the number you must take in 6 months and for which you must pay NASBA in full.
  2. We will email an exam confirmation letter that contains your jurisdiction id.
  3. Using your jurisdiction id, set up an account at NASBA.
  4. Look for an enrollment verification email from NASBA.
  5. Monitor your NASBA account for the Payment Coupon. You have 90 days to pay. The deadline date of your Notice to Schedule is based on that payment date.
  6. 1-2 days after payment, login to your NASBA account to print your Notice to Schedule (NTS).
  7. Go to the Prometric site, find the online scheduler and schedule your exams using the numbers found on your NTS.

The Re-Examination Request is used after the Initial Exam request for all outstanding or failed exams. You can select up to 4 exam sections when you complete this request. However, when you make any exam request, the number of exams you choose is the number you must take in 6 months and for which you must pay NASBA in full.

  1. Monitor your NASBA account for the Payment Coupon. You have 90 days to pay. The deadline date of your Notice to Schedule is based on the payment date.
  2. 1-2 days after payment, login to your NASBA account to print your Notice to Schedule.
  3. Go to the Prometric site, find the online scheduler and schedule your exams using the numbers found on your NTS.
